Tayrona National Park, Colombia

Just next to Taganga is Tayrona. National Park right on Caribbean Beach. From five years ago I (Michal) remember it like the most beautiful beach I ever seen. And it's still awesome.

Unreal beautiful, Even if cloudy...

Taganga, Colombia

Michal's favorite place from his previous visit. Relaxed, chilled backpackers and divers village on the Caribbean coast. Next to touristic Santa Marta and amazing Tayrona National park.

Sunset, beer in hand, beach an life music. Still the same good Taganga

Cartagena, Colombia

The tourist number one of Colombia. Beautifull colonial town on the Caribean sea. Maybe the nicest city in all south America.

Leticia, Colombia

It was an epic journey to come to here, But finally we made it. Michals favorite country. Colombia. After five years again here. Well for the Leticia it was first time for both of us. Leticia is very remote from rest of country. Its not connected by any road. We came late but we catch our plane. We have our first guite negative experience with couchsurfing but in the end we enjoied it here, especially thanks to short but awesome jungle expedition.

Camping on Amazon river, Peru

The way from Iquitos to Leticia should be short, just about two days but... There were complications again. The ship broke, the steersman hated us but we liked the trip anyway. The Amazon river is so huge! On some places its like lake so wide that is hard to see to the other side. And we were still in Peru. Thousands kilometers from Atlantic. And there ate pink dolphins too.

Iquitos, Amazon, Peru

Iquitos on the Amazon river is a very special city. With almost half a million inhabitants it is the worlds largest city without road connection. The only way here is by river or air. It has very special atmosphere. The city grew on rubber industry. The few tourists here are coming for make deep jungle expeditions, to spot big cats (Jaguars, Pumas, Ocelots..) or visit remote indigenous communities. And in last years also to try Ayahuasca. Shamanic ritual with powerful psychedelic plants.

Pucallpa and cruising Ucayali River, Peru

20 hours bus ride across Andes to Amazon Basin. And then cruising the Ucayali river to the mighty Amazon river. It wasn't without complications. Some ship does not start at all, some get broken.. It was an epic journey out of beaten track.. No tourists with luggage on wheels here... It was real Amazon.

Henry 10 just arrived to Pucallpa port

Lima, Peru

The capital city of Peru. It wasn't originally in plan to come to here but things somehow changes (problems on Colombian and Venezuelan boarder). We does not regret. It's interesting big city with surprisingly nice coast.

Cusco, Peru

Cusco is little bit like Prague of south America. Smaller city crowded by tourists. But its truly beautiful. Has alot of Hispanic and pre-Hispanic sites and its close to the super site of Machu Pichu. Ce spend here new years eve. We actually overslept it but luckyly the fireworks woke us up and we had super-b view right from our bed.
