Holbox Island, Mexico

Holbox is an island on the edge of Bay of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. It's place still quite undiscovered by mass tourism. Beautiful place.

Holbox Island star

To go there we took overnight bus from Merida to Chiquilá and than it's just about 45 minutes by ferry. There is just one village on the island.

Big, long white beach
:)

We had meeting with Alvaro our another host in his work in a very nice looking resort. But we does not set time and he wasn't there in the morning. So we just waited on the beach. The weather was about to change so we build tent to stay dry during the rain and we met Alvaro in the evening. He is a Spanish photographer who moved here to start photo business.

Alvaro recommended us some walks around island. If not diving, sailing or kitesurfing there is not much to do. Just beach and bird watching.

Nice restaurant on the promenade
Pterodactyl ?

Armageddon

We were a bit unlucky with weather so the third day we decided to go further.
